Lifting frames commissioned by Blommaert NV.
At the end of last year, Nesko Engineering developed lifting frames at the request of Blommaert NV.
Blommaert NV specializes in aluminum constructions, including hatches to cover ship holds, mobile roofs for land applications, and custom work for industry.
At the request of Blommaert NV we developed a steel lifting frame that enables them to safely transport a set of 8 aluminum ship hatches measuring 14 x 7m. The frame had to be reusable, able to handle a total weight of 34 tonnes, and, of course, provided with a CE certificate.
The frame was designed with SolidWorks, after which it was subjected to a virtual strength calculation. Once the model was optimized, the frames were manufactured. The frames were then delivered to the site and, under the guidance of our team, assembled and subjected to a strength test during the inspection.
In the meantime, our customer has put the frames into service, and they have already traveled to the other side of the ocean!
