Blommaert NV specializes in aluminum structures, including hatch covers for cargo holds, mobile roofs for land-based applications, and custom solutions for industry
We developed a steel lifting frame that enables them to safely transport a set of 8 aluminum ship hatches measuring 14 x 7m. The frame had to be reusable, capable of handling a total weight of 34 tons, and of course come with a CE certificate.
The frame was designed with Solidworks, after which it was subjected to a virtual strength analysis. Once the model was optimized, the frames were manufactured. The frames were then delivered on site and, under the supervision of our team, assembled and subjected to a strength test during the inspection.
The frames have meanwhile been put into service by our customer and have already traveled to the other side of the ocean!
